Batten down the hatches! A spiritual hurricane is on the way! By now you are probably thinking, what the heck is going on in 2014 that has everything stirred, shaken, and in perpetual forward motion. Most astrologers look at the typical culprits, Mercury in Retrograde, the Full Moon, or various planetary alignments, or other aspects occurring within the planets closest to the sun.
In some rare cases however, Earth is affected by the retrograde motion of the larger celestial bodies, the ones beyond the asteroid belt. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are the planets not often discussed in astrology because their cycles are so long, and their effect on Earth is linked not to individual activities, but to human life as a whole.
In 2014 however, Saturn turned retrograde on March 2nd, and remained in retrograde motion until July 20th. Having this information beforehand would have been no real help to you, but after the fact it can offer an explanation as to why certain things have played out in your life over the past few months. Saturn is known for being the "Celestial Taskmaster." Named after the Roman god who was father to Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto, Saturn represents hard work, self control, and diligence. Under Saturn's influence we achieve by overcoming hardships and obstacles. Sometimes the effort is the reward, for effort builds character. In any case, we will never forget what we have learned under Saturn's influence.
Saturn in Retrograde simply doubles the responsibility. It doubles the tasks upon you, doubles your karma and forces you to move with a speed and agility you have not since you were perhaps a young child. During this Saturn Retrograde you would have been forced to put long-term goals in order, may have experienced an upheaval, and you may have reaped the benefits of things you have been working on for a long time. This Saturn Retrograde has been working to put fast motion to transitions in your life. You wouldn't have been able to procrastinate during this time. As a result your life may look very different than the way you had thought it would look at the beginning of 2014.
The good news is that double the work and double the karma is OVER. But Uranus went into retrograde on July 22nd and will remain in retrograde until December 21st, 2014. Uranus is the planet of the future, technology, invention, creativity, humanitarian movements, and revolution. It's the planet of sudden upheaval and swift unexpected happenings. It represents everything new, original, unusual, and unorthodox.
Uranus in Retrograde doubles the usual energies we feel when Uranus is moving in forward motion, the reason being is that retrogrades are an illusion, what has happened is that we are moving faster than the planet, and therefore the energy compounds, giving us more of its influences for a time until we have slowed down and are again moving at the same and normal pace. There are a few things that could happen during this Uranus Retrograde and I'll explain them below.
1) Sudden Upheaval
If you have been resisting (resistance is futile!) a particularly serious situation, it will come to a head during this Uranus Retrograde. This could be a business matter, a dying relationship, or the need to move. While Uranus indicates this is a sudden upheaval, nothing happens that hasn't been previously manifested. It will be a quick upheaval and a force majeure to rebuild. You simply will not be able to ignore this situation anymore.
2) Creative Pursuits
For the creative procrastinators this will be a time of abundant creations, where your mind is in the zone and your muse is attacking you with ideas, creative wisdom, and the philosophy you need to make something truly beautiful. I believe some of the best books will be written, songs composed, and art painted during this period. Whatever we create during this Uranus retrograde will be spoken about for years. Just think: you could be the next Shakespeare!
3)Revolution
Change is the key behind this Uranus Retrograde and revolution in government structure is imminent. It may not happen in your country but in countries around the world, they will likely see a change in power, and management of the country.
4)Technology Overload
The discovery of new technological advances will likely be made during this time. Be ready for the latest Apple products to hit the shelves next year as this surge of creative intellect allows us to advance our technology and move more into the futuristic society we are becoming.
In December, when this is over, remember that whatever you did in 2014 was more important to the universe than you can possibly know. This was a much-needed purge and cleanse, and the beginning of a new era for humanity. Treat the next few months wisely and you could come out a champion.
