We all know deep down that we have a soulmate, someone with whom we share a deep and meaningful connection that goes beyond the physical realm. This connection is said to be rooted in the spiritual and metaphysical and can be felt even when we are physically apart.



Just as flowers require care and attention to bloom, so does the connection between soulmates. It requires effort and nurturing to grow and blossom into something beautiful. Without this care, the connection can wither away and disappear, leaving us feeling incomplete and unfulfilled. We, in turn, suffer, become resentful, angry and start to point fingers. We blame our partner for not doing enough or not putting in “enough effort,” thus invalidating the energy required to make this grow. It’s akin to withholding water from a flower to force it to grow because it needs to show “more effort.”

We might even give up on it and abandon it, hoping that another garden would give us what we want and need. Oh, look, there is a garden filled with flowers. I’ll just put myself there. Then wonder why weeds have overrun this one too. Maybe it’s the universe conspiring against you, you’re cursed, or you aren’t meant to be happy. Or maybe you must cultivate what you cherish and eliminate what you don’t.
